By order of the Ioannina First Instance Prosecutor's Office, which was ratified by a corresponding order of the Ioannina Appeals Prosecutor's Office, the details of the 47-year-old Bulgarian pediatrician, who was arrested last Monday by police officers from the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate, were made public on Saturday.
This is 47-year-old Zvetlozar Zahariev Gueorguiev and Jorgania, born on 10.10.1967 in Bulgaria.
The 47-year-old pediatrician, who had been running a practice in the center of Ioannina for 15 years, was found to be in possession of hard-core child pornography. According to what Brigadier General Manolis Sfakianakis, director of the Electronic Crime Prosecution Service, had stated in the previous days, among the material the defendant had downloaded from the internet was the rape of a six-month-old baby by an animal.
According to him, the Electronic Crime Prosecution Service had identified him six months ago. This is the first time a pediatrician-pedophile has been arrested.
However, all this was not enough to remand the 47-year-old. On Friday, after his apology, he was temporarily released with the consent of the investigator and prosecutor.
He was imposed with the restrictive conditions of a ban on leaving the country, a €20,000 bail and must report to a police station at regular intervals.
The pediatrician from Bulgaria was prosecuted for the supply and possession of child pornography material, using the internet, the production of which is linked to the use of a minor under the age of 15, by a perpetrator acting habitually.
“The publication of the data, for a period of 15 days, in accordance with the order of the Ioannina Court of Appeals, aims to protect society as a whole, minors, vulnerable or powerless population groups and to facilitate the realization of the State’s claim for the punishment of the above offenses,” the Police press release states.
