At the end of November, there was a rumor that Apple would remove the 3.5mm headphone jack from the iPhone 7 and instead use the Lightning connector to connect headphones to the device.
Now there are more details, revealed by Apple's supply chain, that apparently confirm that the company will be doing away with the 3.5mm audio jack and using the Lightning port instead.
The news comes from two Chinese websites, Anzhou and Wei Fang, which have apparently received information from the company's supply chain regarding changes to the way the headphones will connect with the new model.
Apple is also expected to release an adapter that will allow existing headphones to work with the new model, which will either be included in the new package or sold separately at an additional cost.
Other changes to the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will include a faster Apple A10 processor and more RAM , with both devices said to ship with 3GB of RAM and the 7 Plus could also have a 256GB storage option as well as a larger battery.
Both devices are also said to have a new design superior to the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, while the company is expected to continue offering the same color options.
Another thing that is also rumored about the new models is that they will be waterproof and this is something that has been rumored for some time.
We expect the new devices to launch in August or September, while there may also be a smaller iPhone 6C or 7C sometime in April with a 4-inch display.
