Plastic money: The magic software & the tax evasion 'parties'
ID-ont comment: In the era of plastic money and the complete abolition of cash, dozens of cash registers, POS machines, and debit/credit cards will be able to operate with ""magic"" software and dozens of tax evasion "parties" will be set up"??? according to the model of today's revelation made by the Financial Police? And don't tell us that illegal software is not "pierced" into POS and Cards. Here they "pierced" into the monster of technology and security called Vodafone and will stick to the Banks???
Mr. Alexiadis, are there any negatives to plastic money? Are there any risks associated with the use of plastic money, or is everything rosy and “tax evasion will be cracked down on”? Will we ultimately see an increase in tax evasion (and indeed electronic! and therefore very difficult to detect) instead of cracking it down? (see Conference “Cashless Society: Perspective or Nightmare?”, https://id-ont.blogspot.gr/2015/07/video.html)
So leave your daily TV shows about plastic money and lie down to do your work, so that tax evasion is truly tackled.
iefimerida.gr: A «magical» software, which makes… the real revenues invisible, engineered a circuit that set up an incredible «party» of tax evasion.
With the fraud they had set up, the true revenues of small and medium-sized enterprises were hidden and consequently, of course, the public lost millions. In the scheme, owners of two companies that develop receipt-issuing software for modern cash registers, accountants, and owners of businesses and hotels participated, who collaborated and took percentages of the «black» revenues that were concealed at the end of each day.
This was preceded by a major investigation by the financial police into businesses that sell cash registers in stores. As iefimerida wrote on October 10, the financial police were looking for the software that shopkeepers install in their cash registers, which allows them to intervene at the end of the day and show less income in order to be taxed even less. In fact, financial police officers speak of tax evasion of tens of millions of euros with the help of this software, and they speak of one of the largest tax evasion cases, since hundreds of stores and businesses are involved in it.
To achieve this, they used the software to electronically intervene in the daily recording of business revenues, the so‑called “Z”, erasing… zeros from the final collection amount, resulting in them earning more by evading taxes. Moreover, as high‑ranking officials of the Hellenic Police reveal in an interview with the Free Press, the responsible services of the Ministry of Finance had approved the sale of receipt‑issuing software to legitimate companies without requesting the deposit of the original program and, of course, without carrying out the necessary inspection!
At the center of this tax evasion “party” are two companies, which legally issue software for the operation of cash registers and are responsible for their maintenance andtechnical support . The managers of these companies seem to have sought and found “willing” entrepreneurs to write off part of the real income of their businesses, which would end up directly in their pockets without any tax payment. The same happened with some entrepreneurs who sought out on their own those who could carry out these actions. In some of the cases, the intermediaries in this contact were the entrepreneurs’ accountants, who sought to hide a significant part of the daily receipts.
After the necessary negotiations on the percentage of remuneration that the manager of the software company would receive, which was determined by the amount of money they would conceal, the process began. At the end of each day, and while the employees of the company were cutting receipts regularly throughout its duration, the owner would do a "cashier" by calculating the income and deciding the amount he wanted to conceal. He would then contact the "cleaner", to whom he would announce the actual income and then the amount he wanted to conceal.
The manager of the company accessed electronically the software version of the final «Z», i.e., the daily revenue log, and removed the amount desired by the «client» simultaneously with the electronic disappearance of the receipts that cumulatively completed the desired monetary amount. In the «Z» the total turnover and the VAT applicable to sales are shown, it is issued daily and updates the tax office books each month, and from this arise the municipal fees.
For example, the owner who had a daily collection of 1,000 euros with a simple and remote electronic intervention by the «συνεργάτη» could remove a zero, making it appear as 100 euros and the 900 would go tax‑free into his pocket, removing the amount of the fee of the one who helped with the deletion.
