Adobe has released a new update to Flash Player to fix a major vulnerability, which was highlighted in files disclosed by spyware maker Hacking Team .
The Adobe Flash fixes thirty-six “CVE” flaws, including Hacking Team’s “CVE-2015-5119” software flaw, where a malicious Flash file could run malware on a user’s computer. The remaining 35 security flaws allow hackers to remotely attack vulnerable computers.
Windows, Linux and OS X users are advised to immediately download the latest Adobe Flash updates or disable the plugin. The update is considered essential for OS X users, as well as Windows users.
An alternative solution is to uninstall Adobe Flash or disable the plugin. You can also set your browser to only run Flash files if you right-click on them and select the "run this plugin" command, mitigating the risk.
"Adobe has released security updates for Adobe Flash Player, Windows, Macintosh, and Linux. These updates address critical vulnerabilities that could allow an attacker to take control of an affected system. Adobe is aware that a report targeting CVE-2015-5119 has been published," Adobe said in its security bulletin.
