A regular procedure case was filed by the Cybercrime Prosecution against a 77-year-old man from Alexandroupolis, who made a racist comment under a video of the rescue of migrants.
The investigation into the case began following a complaint received by the Coordination Operations Center of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate about an unknown internet user who commented on racist content, using a pseudonym, under a video about the rescue of migrants on an island in the North Aegean.
"Drown the anarcho-communists along with their children and put their heads in the water," said the racist comment of the 77-year-old man from Alexandroupolis.
The Athens First Instance Prosecutor's Office was immediately informed of the above and an order was issued to conduct a preliminary examination, in accordance with relevant Opinions of the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court.
As part of the preliminary examination, a thorough and in-depth police and digital investigation was conducted and the internet connection through which the malicious act was carried out was identified, while the user to whom it corresponds was also identified.
The day before yesterday morning, a legal search was carried out at the home of the 77-year-old perpetrator in Alexandroupoli, where a portable computer was found and seized, which has been sent to the Criminal Investigations Directorate for laboratory tests.
