More customization options for the Windows 10 Start menu

The Windows Start menu has become something of an obsession for Microsoft , after the company was heavily criticized for eliminating it from Windows 8.

Start Menu - Windows 10

The company is now trying to make sure it does it right in Windows 10 to win back the hearts of users.

A screenshot recently leaked online via Chinese media shows that Microsoft is planning to introduce even more customization options to the Start menu in future builds, even if the company hasn't talked about it publicly.

This is part of Microsoft's plan to give users more choices, and it's very obvious that the Start menu plays a key role in this new approach.

The Start menu will return to Windows 10, and build 10056 comes with a resizable version that allows users to adjust its dimensions to suit their screens.

This option was previously offered in early technical preview builds ,but was later removed. However, after user demand, the company decided to bring it back, so it is now available again and will likely remain so until the operating system reaches the RTM development stage.

This screenshot also shows that the Start menu will have its own section in the PC settings screen, so the operating system can automatically choose a color from the background to make the desktop look better with the same colors. You can also choose a color for the taskbar and Start menu, and even make the menu transparent.

Meanwhile, we know that Microsoft is also working on new graphics for the Start menu, and some of them are already available in build 10056. Of course, a lot of this could change by the time Windows 10 reaches RTM, which according to sources should happen in June.
