The new Hitch lets your friends find you a match
One of the most common ways to meet your ideal partner is through... "matchmaking" through mutual friends.
This event was the inspiration for transferring this reality to the… online world and led to the creation of a new application called "Hitch".
This particular application allows users to "match" two of their Facebook.
It was named after the famous movie starring Will Smith, a relationship "guru" who helps singles overcome any "stucks" or problems they face and ultimately find the love of their life. The founder and inspirer of the idea of this particular application, Anton Gu, had a similar experience one night, when he met a girl but was embarrassed to ask his friends for her phone number.
"About a year ago, one night when I was out with my friends, I met a girl I had never met before. She was a friend of a friend. She didn't stay long at the place we were at so I didn't get a chance to talk to her. The next day I was sitting at home, trying to think of a way to get in touch with her," he told MailOnline, adding: "I looked online and found that there wasn't any app I could use to help me with how I could approach her. So we built this app.".
Since that night, he has reportedly been using his "brainchild" to improve his love life. At the time the app was released, the girl had already met someone else, but a friend of mine introduced me to someone else and... she turned out to be fantastic. We are a couple now.".
The "matchmakers" log in to Facebook and choose two of their friends who they think should meet and send them a message explaining why they think they are a good match.
The Hitch is available in 50 countries and in the UK alone, around 2,000 “hitches” take place each month, the article notes.
Anton also mentioned that women are better matchmakers than men. "There's a lady in Texas who has matched 14 couples. She's very good at that role!".
