The Cybercrime Unit , after immediate and coordinated actions, prevented another case of attempted suicide, which was committed by an internet user.
In particular, the Cybercrime Prosecution Service was recently informed through "Cyber Alert" that an unknown person expressed his intention to commit suicide by sending e-mail messages.
A thorough online and police investigation followed, to identify the individual's digital assets and data, with the aim of immediately locating him and ensuring his mental health and physical integrity. The investigation resulted in the identification of his electronic traces and the geographical location of his residence.
In communication and cooperation between the Cybercrime Unit and the local Police Department, it was determined that this is a local man, who was found in good health inside his home.
A regular procedure file was prepared for the case and will be submitted to the competent First Instance Prosecutor's Office.
