Following the revelation that Lenovo was selling laptops with “adware” installed, and its official statement that it had disabled it, and that it would no longer work with the company behind Superfish, the Chinese manufacturer is offering a free six-month subscription to McAfee LiveSafe.
However, only those who had Supefish on their computer can take advantage of the free protection offer, and more specifically, computer owners:

Let us recall that Super-fish made Lenovo computers vulnerable and put user data at risk, by installing, among other things, a man-in-the-middle certificate that allowed the spying of secure communications, with the ultimate goal of advertising and profit.
Lenovo has since apologized for the software, and said it will never be preinstalled on any of its computers again. McAfee LiveSafe is primarily used against attacks aimed at stealing identity data, but it also acts as an antivirus and antimalware.
