While the Greek delegation was in Brussels negotiating the settlement of the Greek debt, the packed Syntagma Square in Athens, the White Tower in Thessaloniki, and all the other squares in the country, perhaps constituted the strongest bargaining chip.
Along with the Greeks, thousands of citizens around the world demonstrated in support of the Greek effort to negotiate with its European partners.
