He also thought Steve Jobs was "weird" and had too many flaws. For Gates, Steve Jobs could relate to other people on one or two other levels.
He believed that “Jobs was the kind of guy who either wrote you… normally or tried to charm you.” The Apple co-founder wasn’t the nicest person in the world. He fired the head of MobileMe in front of many of the company’s employees, and there were many times when he showered people with cosmetic epithets. Sometimes his anger was part of his charm.
While psychologists have a word for this kind of behavior. It's called narcissism. Narcissists are constantly seeking validation, they want to control people, and they are ruthless about their needs. They have to be satisfied. This often makes them extremely effective as executives, just like Steve Jobs was.
