The Hellenic Police is protecting the secure transmission of election results through the " SYZEFXIS " network in view of the parliamentary elections and under the fear of a hacker attack on the day of the election process.
A meeting held at the offices of the Cybercrime Prosecution was attended by all relevant officers of the Corps, representatives of the National Security Incident Management Network of the Ministry of Interior, the National Cybersecurity Response Team (CERT), the National Public Sector Network / SYZEFXIS, the Attica Region, the Greek Telecommunications Authority, Forthnet and Singular Logic.
During the meeting, information was provided on how to deal with any technical issues or malicious actions during the transmission of election results.
In order to achieve the smooth and uninterrupted conduct of the broadcast, a coordination group for the electoral process was established by all the involved bodies, for direct and continuous communication, with the aim of protecting the process of broadcasting the results.
It is noted that the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate is already in a state of constant readiness to safeguard online infrastructure from cyberattacks, in order to ensure a smooth flow of results transmission.
