Seminar on the relationship of minors with the internet, by the Cybercrime Division to members of the Association for Children's Rights
The members of E.DI.PAI. carried out today an educational visit to the Cybercrime Directorate, at the G.A.D.A.
The Ministry of Public Order & Citizen Protection, in cooperation with the Cybercrime Directorate, organized today (15-12-2014), at the General Police Directorate of Attica (G.A.D.A.), a seminar on the relationship of minors with the internet, which was addressed to members of the Union for Children's Rights (E.DI.PAI.).
At the seminar, which was carried out as part of an educational visit of the members of E.DI.PAI., the Director of the Cybercrime Division, Colonel Emmanuel Sfakianakis, as well as other specialized Officers of the Service participated, who informed the members of the Association both about internet security and about the risks that lurk and the delinquency of minors in it.
Specifically, the topics that were developed within the framework of the seminar were:
- The mission of the Cybercrime Division.
- The purpose of organizing the workshops.
- The relationship of minors with the internet.
- Crimes and the way they are committed online, as well as prevention practices.
- The phenomena of online violence, the dangers posed by social networking sites and, in general, the prevention and treatment of risks associated with new technologies.
- Statistical data concerning the penetration of Greeks on the internet and cases that the Cybercrime Unit is called to address.
The aim of the conference was to showcase the activities of the Cybercrime Unit, which includes prevention, investigation, as well as the suppression of crimes and anti-social behaviors committed via the internet or other electronic communication means.
