The National Documentation Center (www.ekt.gr) is organizing Horizon 2020, an information day on Information and Communication Technologies within the framework of the EU Program. The day will take place on Monday 01/12/2014 at the National Research Foundation, L. Zervas Amphitheatre (48 Vas. Konstantinou Ave.), with arrival time at 9:30 a.m. The aim of the event is to present the funding possibilities of the “Horizon 2020” program , which is the EU financial framework for Research and Innovation for the period 2014-2020, with a total budget for all actions of around € 80 billion.
The representative of the European Commission, Mr. Morten Møller, will present the program and the announcements for the year 2015, while the National Representatives will present the position of Greece for the program “Information and Communication Technologies”. Admission to the event is free but registration is required.
The program aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises by providing new financial tools that concern different areas of application of Research and Development, offering the opportunity for businesses to participate in many calls of the program. This specific event has focused on Information and Communication Technologies -ICT Research & Development.
The programme reflects the political priorities of the Europe 2020 strategy and responds to major concerns expressed by citizens of the European Union. An approach based on these challenges will bring together resources and knowledge from different fields, technologies and scientific disciplines, including those of the social sciences and humanities. It will cover actions from research to market with a new focus on innovation actions, such as pilot applications and dissemination of results, while supporting public procurement and market uptake.
