Critics of Sony's real-time services initiative have seen their suspicions confirmed recently, as the platform owner has struggled to get its projects off the ground. While the excellent Helldivers 2 has been a huge success, Naughty Dog 's standalone game based on The Last of Us was abruptly canceled, while Firesprite's revamped Twisted Metal was recently canceled, and the London Studio was shut down entirely. The latter was the one working on a fantastic co-op game.
However, despite the layoffs at Guerrilla Games last week, the platform owner is continuing to move forward with the multiplayer PS5 game Horizon, which the Dutch company has acknowledged in hiring processes after years of rumors. While little is known about the title's character, well-connected Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier states that it was not canceled as part of the company's recent restructuring.

There appear to be multiple online versions of Horizon in the works, with rumors pointing to some sort of Monster Hunter, as well as an MMORPGbeing developed by Korean specialists NCSoft. Sony, as usual, is keeping any announcements under wraps – but for now, it looks like work is continuing in earnest on this expansion of the popular series.
