The Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens, the Association of Mobile Applications Companies of Greece (SEKEE), Samsung Electronics Hellas and the Electronic Business Laboratory, ELTRUN, of the Athens University of Economics, presented today the educational program “Innovation and Design Thinking in Mobile Applications and Services”. This educational program will start on November 10 and will be held at the InnovAthens facilities.
The program is addressed to final-year students or graduates of Universities, Technical and Polytechnic Schools, who would like to try their abilities in electronic business. It is offered free of charge and aims at developing participants' skills in designing new services and business activities, leveraging the opportunities and prospects offered in the mobile field. The program duration is 50 hours, conducted over four weeks, and the students who complete it successfully will receive a certificate of study from the Athens University of Economics.
As stated by Antonis Oikonomou, Project Manager of INNOVATHENS: “The innovation and entrepreneurship hub of Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens has incorporated into its activities a comprehensive training services program for unemployed youth, aspiring entrepreneurs and business executives. In this context it co‑organizes in its space an innovative seminar for the standardisation of business ideas in the field of mobile applications. It is worth noting that the educational program will be carried out by experienced professors and partners of OPA».”.
John Kotis-Yiannarakis, General Director of SEKEE, said: «Today we are at the beginning of a new revolution in the use of wireless communications and applications on new mobile devices, which will transform all sectors of the economy, from agricultural production and transportation to tourism and health. The Vice-Rector of OPA and head of K.E.K., Professor Georgios Giaglis added: «The Athens University of Economics collaborates with market entities to offer specialized educational services in cutting‑edge fields that create new jobs and new entrepreneurship». «The Electronic Business Laboratory has designed a plethora of educational programs over the past 25 years. This particular program is innovative because it combines the design and development of new digital mobile services with their business implementation», continued Georgios Doukidis, Professor and Director of ELTRUN and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the Athens University of Economics.
Finally, Michalis Moschos, Marketing Director of Samsung Electronics Hellas noted: «It is especially important for us to take part in the implementation of this specific educational program. The mobile industry is evolving rapidly, on a global scale, creating new prospects, capabilities and opportunities for exploitation.
