HTC appears to have postponed its plans to launch a smartwatch in an effort to "get it right" while competitors try to capitalize on the wearables market.
According to Re/code, the device is not ready to be released this year.
The team responsible for developing wearables at HTC needs time to deliver a product that is attractive enough to wear.
Many smartwatch manufacturers are already on the market and have such gadgets in the US, such as Pebble, while others have yet to send their products to the shelves. The Apple Watch is expected to be released early next year.
HTC is also hosting an event in New York on Wednesday – but we shouldn't expect any further smartwatch news. The company says it will release an update in early 2015.
