Through a special algorithm, a new application on Yahoo Maps can and does find the user the most beautiful route to their destination.
Using data from the photo service Flickr, Yahoo researchers were able to create a special algorithm that, depending on the user's location, can identify the photos with the best comments that have been taken in a place nearby and then create the most beautiful routes to get to their destination.
The service is currently only available in Boston and London, but the tests that have already been conducted seem to suggest approximately 30% more beautiful and interesting routes than those suggested by the shortest route on the map.
