After Google , Microsoft 's search engine , Bing , is participating in the " right to be forgotten " that the European Union recently imposed on companies.
According to a ruling by the EU Court of Justice, search engines are obliged to delete citizens' personal data from their results , if requested.
Google is the first search engine to prepare an online form so that EU citizens can notify it of the removal from its results of links that have incorrect information or data that "does not concern anyone else."
Microsoft has also taken a similar step , with an online form in which EU citizens request to be removed from Bing search results .
Microsoft, seeing that Google is unable to cope with the many requests, is requesting more information from citizens during the application, such as their name, European country, and some proof that the citizen is indeed being affected.
Finally, Microsoft checks whether the request concerns a "named or anonymous" citizen, so that it can handle each request differently
