With the World Cup underway, people around the world are tweeting about the same topic in many different languages. Twitter wants to make it easier for everyone by bringing translation capabilities to its mobile iOS app and is searching on Bing to pave the way.
The two companies are joining forces to bring the ability to translate tweets to iOS apps, according to a report from CNET. After receiving the Twitter for iOS update, users can click a translate button on any tweet to have it appear in their native language.
The idea isn't entirely new. In 2012, Twitter tested a Bing Translate feature that automatically translates tweets into other languages.
More recently, Bing brought its translation feature to Android.
