Microsoft has just announced the Surface Pro 3 tablet, and the details are really interesting. The company has taken a new approach to the Surface Pro this time around, with the stated goal of eliminating the "clash" between the tablet and laptop form factors .
To do this, they've expanded the Surface Pro to include a display that measures 12" from edge to edge. Specifically, the display has a 3:2 aspect ratio, with a resolution of 2160x1440, which is much closer to square than the 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratios of most non-Apple tablets. Microsoft claims that this display can show "6% more content than a 13-inch laptop."
