Edward Snowden gave his first major interview to the US media, where he talked about the NSA, mass surveillance, terrorism and more.
Snowden has told NBC News Night that he believes he did the right thing by releasing the documents to the media because the mass surveillance operations carried out by the NSA had reached a dangerous point.
A major statement from the White House regarding the leaks is that they have greatly aided terrorists. Many have said that Snowden effectively aided the enemy by exposing the NSA's mass surveillance practices that affect the privacy of millions of completely innocent people.
Trying to clear his name, Snowden says these statements are misleading. He says he is a technical expert and has worked as a spy for the US Defense Intelligence Agency, the NSA and the CIA, living and working abroad in secret.
