Edward Snowden is expected to 'appear' at the SXSW Interactive Festival event, which will take place on March 10, 2014, in Austin, Texas.
Snowden will participate in the event via video conference and will speak with Christopher Soghoian, a member of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), about the impacts of spying.
According to a SXSW press release, “the discussion will focus on the impact of NSA surveillance programs on the tech community, as well as ways in which technology can help effectively protect the world from mass spying.”.
Those unable to attend SXSW 2014 will be able to watch Snowden's speech via live streaming - a service available through the nonprofit The Texas Tribune.
After the event, Snowden's speech will be available through the ACLU website.
