Fluffy love adventures on the infamous dating platform!
Tinder, that vast reservoir of loneliness and testosterone, recently welcomed a dog into its territory, with the events that followed being at least tragicomic.
So here's what happens when you throw a bone to Tinder, which for those unfamiliar, is an app that allows you to find friends in a nearby radius and whatever comes up.
Journalist Joe Veix decided to open an account on the infamous sex dating app as a dog. And so the 26-year-old(!) golden retriever named Hero descended upon the online dating scene, and to make things even more fair, the journalist initially wanted his dog male and then female.
The ladies who "struck" Mr. Hero, as he is an adorable golden retriever, indulged in everything from simple conversations with barks and meows to full-on flirting! Male Hero collected a total of 206 matches (154 men and 52 women) in 7 days.
A slightly different dance took place when the dog turned into a female. Ms. Hero was wanted by over 300 single men in just 2 hours(!), and she even received a notification from a woman!
As for the gentlemen who contacted the dog, here things got even "darker", as the flirting ranged from clichéd lines to crude "falling", which ultimately forced Joe Veix to close the account!
“I stopped being a female dog after just one day and deleted the app,” the journalist said, “I was disgusted by the awful messages I was receiving, but also by the fact that my phone was flooded with Tinder notifications.” Conclusion? “Even if you are a dog, online dating is unacceptable”!
Some saw it as a joke, joining in on Hero's happy electronic barks, but most had other things in mind for the innocent little dog: from sexual innuendos to advanced lines, it didn't seem to matter that the dark object of online desire appeared as a dog..
