Alert in the Hellenic Police to repel any attacks by hackers who would like to change the percentages of the parties
The possibility that hackers may want to engage in an electronic "war" with the competent services, changing the results and percentages of the parties in the upcoming elections as they wish, is of particular concern to the Cybercrime Investigation Unit and its commander, Manolis Sfakianakis.
For this reason, a broad meeting was held yesterday at the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate, on the topic of the secure transmission of election results, via the "SYZEFXIS" network
More specifically, executives of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate, representatives of the National Security Incident Management Network of the Ministry of Interior, the National Cyber Attack Countermeasures Authority, as well as the National Public Sector Network / SYZEFXIS, OTE S.A. and Singular Logic participated.
During the meeting, information was provided on how to deal with any technical issues or malicious actions during the transmission of election results.
In order to achieve the seamless and smooth conduct of the transmission, a common point of contact was established by all involved bodies for direct and continuous communication, with the aim of protecting the process of transmitting the results.
It is noted that the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate is already in a state of constant readiness, while on election day, specialized officers will be deployed at key points of the Ministry of Interior to safeguard online infrastructure from cyberattacks, in order to ensure a smooth flow of results transmission.
