Adding names to a list of high-profile targets, the notorious hacktivist group NullCrew released evidence of nine new breaches on Easter Sunday. The list includes the University of Virginia, Telco Systems, and several other high-profile websites.
The NullCrew hackers posted an e-zine on Pastebin called “FTS Zine 5.” The “zine” featured data from databases including Klas Telecom, Spokeo, the United Nations International Civil Aviation Organization, the University of Virginia, the Science and Technology Center of Ukraine, and many others.
NullCrew announced the attacks on Twitter, mocking their targets.
Before attacking the above websites and organizations, the hackers sent warning messages stating that there were vulnerabilities in their systems. When they realized that no one was interested, they attacked the websites and took their databases, which they had uploaded to Mega.
NullCrew explains in the zine that "the general target is the government, or anything that is corrupt. And that's why these attacks are carried out on government contractors, universities, telecommunications companies, and others."
