The Erdogan government decided to close YouTube one day after a Turkish court decided to reopen Twitter, which the Turkish government had also decided to ban.
This decision was apparently made after information emerged that there are video documents with government officials, one of which contains the head of Turkey's intelligence services discussing intervention in Syria with the foreign minister and the deputy commander of the armed forces.
Also, according to recorded conversations, Erdogan was the one who orchestrated the leak of a pornographic video starring former Republican Party leader Deniz Baykal in 2010.
