Rescator, a popular online marketplace for stolen payment card information, has been hacked. The dark web site, which was distributing data stolen from US retail chains Target and Sally Beauty, was breached and corrupted.

The hacker posted the following message on the compromised page:

"Hi subhumans and miscreants, your fraud site is gone now. Go away. Also, Krebs, please don't call me a punk on Twatter: im trying to be a good person :(,"

In addition to the message, the attacker also posted a YouTube video on the homepage, featuring Will Smith in Men in Black.

Security researcher Brian Krebs was monitoring the activity of Rescator, which is hosted at Rescator(dot)la.

The website is run by an individual with the pseudonym Rescator, who is believed to be involved in other underground markets for the trafficking of stolen data.
