Without wearing a white coat and with the help of elegant ladies who took over the demonstration, Toshiba scientists presented a device in Tokyo yesterday that, literally, saves lives.
Slightly smaller than a dishwasher, Toshiba's medical device analyzes human breath using laser technology and within 30 seconds of blowing into the special mouthpiece, it gives the results of the "examinations." So far, it can diagnose problems in the liver, stomach, lungs, and even diabetes.
In the near future, Toshiba will expand the diagnostic range of its medical device, while there is already interest in acquiring it from hospitals in Japan.
