Security researchers have identified yet another phishing campaign targeting unsuspecting internet users, with the aim of stealing sensitive personal and financial information.
The campaign is carried out with the help of fake emails that supposedly come from PayPal, informing users about a new survey program being conducted by the company.
In order to participate, interested parties are invited to download, complete and submit a relevant form, which includes various questions. In the second part of the form, users are asked to enter their personal information.
Victims are asked to provide their full name, address, city, zip code, date of birth, credit card number, expiration date, CVV, and password.
The submitted information is transmitted to a server controlled by cybercriminals and potentially used to perform illegal transactions with victims' credit card details.
