Cybercriminals have released a scam designed to trick users into running malware that is spreading as a “desktop version” of the hugely popular WhatsApp mobile messaging app.
The links promoted through spam emails, which appeared last week, redirect the user to a banking Trojan and not to a desktop version of the application.
We recommend that you be careful with these types of messages. WhatsApp is not available for desktop computers.
