As Bloomberg reports, Google has managed to surpass oil giant Exxon Mobil Corp, taking second place on the list of the most valuable companies in the United States.
The internet giant's market capitalization is 288.6 billion euros, more than 1 billion euros more than Exxon. Apple remains the dominant force, with a market value of 341.4 billion euros.
According to Bloomberg, Google's rise reflects the importance of technology in the modern era and the shift of consumers towards the internet and online services.
