T-Mobile informs customers of hacking attack that led to leak of sensitive data

Cybercriminals managed to infiltrate a T-mobilethrough the telecommunications company's hosting service provider, gaining access to sensitive customer data.

The compromised data includes names, addresses, social security numbers and driver's license numbers.

According to a letter sent by the company to customers, the breach was discovered in late November 2013, and the attackers' goal was likely to steal credit card information.

The company offers customers free identity protection services from Experian for one year.

The exact number of people affected by the attack has not yet been disclosed , while the incident has been reported to the California Attorney General's Office, and is being investigated.
