Finnish mobile phone manufacturer Nokia is preparing to release a firmware update for Lumia devices running Windows Phone 8, and has already started sending out invitations to users to participate in testing the software.
The update, codenamed "Black," is expected to be made available to the public in early 2014, alongside the release of Microsoft, Windows Phone 8 GDR3.
The update is not ready yet, as Nokia is working to resolve some pending issues, and is asking users to help with this process.
Users selected to participate will have the opportunity to try out Nokia Black before its official arrival on all devices.
The beta version of the software – which brings a number of improvements and new features – appears to mainly concern the Nokia Lumia 520 and Lumia 521 smartphones, however other devices may also be included in the program,
The upcoming firmware version will bring Bluetooth 4.0 LE support, as well as RAW support for the Nokia Lumia 1020 and Lumia 1520.
