Facebook, LinkedIn, and the like have been in the spotlight for a while, but now it's time for Pinterest. According to a new report from ShareThis, a content distribution service, Pinterest has become the fastest-growing online content sharing platform.
The report examines over 120 million shares made through ShareThis. In the third quarter of this year, over 120 social media channels were used and nearly two million websites, with Pinterest coming out on top.
The data shows that content sharing increased by 19.2% in the last quarter, which is quite impressive. For comparison, content sharing on Facebook increased by 14.7%, while Twitter saw a 7.6% drop.
Furthermore, it seems that Pinterest is almost as popular as email services when it comes to online content sharing.
When it comes to volume, Twitter and Facebook together account for almost 75% of all content sharing, but their growth has slowed significantly.
