HBO is developing a Baldur's Gate TV series that will continue the story of Larian Studios ' hit RPG Baldur's Gate 3 , Deadline reports. The Last Of Us co-creator Craig Mazin will serve as creator, writer, executive producer, and showrunner for the series.

Although the series will feature new leads, the plan is to bring back existing characters from the game. Mazin plans to reach out to Baldur's Gate 3 cast members with "ideas about their involvement in the TV adaptation and ways that would make it possible," Deadline reports.
It's unclear when the new Baldur's Gate series will premiere. Larian is not involved in the series, Geoff Keighley.
"After nearly 1,000 hours in the incredible world of Baldur's Gate 3, it's a dream come true to be able to continue the story that Larian and Wizards of The Coast created," Mazin told Deadline. "I'm a devoted fan of D&D and the brilliant way Swen Vincke and his talented team have adapted it."
Mazin is still working on the third season of The Last of Us, which could be the last. The series' other co-creator, Neil Druckmann , announced last year that he would be leaving the series to focus on the studio's games.
