Last week, Apple released feature-packed updates like iOS 26.2, iPadOS 26.2, and more. The new features for visionOS 26.2 seemed minimal during the beta process, but it turns out the update actually brought a significant upgrade for using the Apple Vision Pro on the go.

visionOS may be Apple's software platform with the smallest user base, but it continues to receive significant improvements. Earlier this fall, visionOS 26 brought two key improvements for better iPhone compatibility, a significantly improved Spatial Personas , and more.
The latest update, visionOS 26.2, has made the Vision Pro a truly portable product for the first time.

The Travel feature in visionOS previously allowed users to use Vision Pro on planes or trains. In visionOS 26.2, it has been expanded to two more areas—one of which is a significant step forward. Travel feature now allows passengers to use Apple Vision Pro in cars and buses, in addition to planes and trains.
Extending the Travel feature to support cars could prove very useful for certain use cases. Whether it’s a car trip, a long Uber ride, or frequent commuting as a passenger, visionOS 26.2 enables the ultimate use of Vision Pro on the go.

This will be especially useful one day when Apple Glasses that can run visionOS are released. In the meantime, expanding the available use cases for Vision Pro outside of the home or office is a welcome change.
