Spotify thepopular music streaming, is introducing an innovative feature that aims to bring users closer to the live music experience. The new feature allows listeners to “follow” music venues and concert venuesto receive instant updates on upcoming concerts, schedules and announcements — transforming Spotify into a complete hub for live music information.

Personalized concert experience within your library
Users will now be able to save Venues to their library for easy access to information, event calendars and details for each scheduled concert. The feature includes search filters by music genre, allowing listeners to discover live performances that match their personal tastes.

The idea reinforces the connection between the digital world of music streaming and the physical space of concerts — something Spotify has been gradually integrating in recent years. Beyond just listening, users can now plan their participation in live experiences without having to leave the app.
Live event streaming becomes daily
One of the most important changes that comes with the new feature is the upgrade of the “Live Events” feed. The update, which was previously done on a weekly basis, will now take place daily, ensuring that users always have the latest information on concerts and events at their disposal.

This step is in response to the needs of a fast-moving audience who wants to be the first to know about new shows, sold-out events or additions to the tour list of their favorite artists. Real-time notifications will also help users not to miss important dates.
Partnerships with ticketing giants
The ticket purchasing process remains equally simple: with one tap, users can be taken to the partner ticketing site, such as Live Nation or Ticketmaster, and complete their transaction.

While Spotify experimented with selling tickets through its platform in 2022, it has not yet announced any official plans to expand the service. However, the company seems to be keeping an eye on the possibility of a more comprehensive ticketing ecosystem in the future — especially if it sees a positive response to its new venue tracking feature.

Music discovery moves to the next stage
The new feature complements the “Concerts Near You” tool that Spotify introduced earlier this year. The list features 30 songs from artists performing in nearby locations, allowing users to discover new musicians and plan to see them live.
In this way, the platform connects the digital music discovery with the physical world of concerts, offering a more experiential and personalized experience.

Competition is intensifying
The strategy comes at a time when Spotify's competitors are similarly investing in the live experience. SoundCloud, for example, announced a partnership with the same ticketing platforms — Ticketmaster and Live Nation — allowing artists to add upcoming shows directly to their pages.
The trend shows that music streaming services are gradually turning into cultural information hubs, where users don't just listen to music, but organize their entire music experience from a single environment.
