Ten years after its debut, Spotify Premium subscribers will see new controls at the top of the list that let them guide their recommendations towards specific genres. So, if you mostly listen to '80s rock but start to discover a weakness for K-pop, you can select genre filters to steer the algorithmic recommendations in the right direction.
This new feature aims to give users more control over what kind of new music they want to discover through Discover Weekly.
According to Spotify, users have streamed over 100 billion tracks through Discover Weekly, with 77% of streams coming from emerging artists.

To access the improved version of Discover Weekly, Spotify Premium subscribers can head to the “Made for You” section and then to the Discover Weekly list. As long as they have the latest version of the app installed, they will see the new genre filters at the top of the list.
