Automotive tire giant Bridgestone confirms it is investigating a cyberattack affecting the operation of some manufacturing facilities in North America.

The company believes its rapid response contained the attack in its early stages, preventing the theft of customer data or deep network penetration. Bridgestone Americas (BSA) is the North American arm of Bridgestone, a Japanese multinational tire manufacturer, the world's largest by production volume.
BSA operates 50 manufacturing facilities and employs 55,000 people, representing approximately 43% of the total size of Bridgestone Corporation. In 2024, BSA alone had sales of $12 billion and operating profits of $1.2 billion.
On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, reports of a cybersecurity incident affecting two of BSA's manufacturing facilities in Aiken , South Carolina. The following day, Canadian media reported similar disruptions at BSA's manufacturing facility in Joliette , Quebec.

In response to our press request regarding the situation at its North American facilities, Bridgestone confirmed that it is investigating a cyber incident.
"Bridgestone Americas continues to investigate a limited cyber incident affecting some of our manufacturing facilities," Bridgestone's statement sent to BleepingComputer reads.
Meanwhile, the company said its staff is working around the clock to mitigate the impact and minimize the impact on the supply chain, which could lead to product shortages in the market.
BleepingComputer asked Bridgestone if the attack was ransomware, but we have yet to receive a response. As of this writing, no ransomware group has claimed responsibility for the attack on Bridgestone Americas.
