WhatsApp is being disabled on all devices in the United States House of Representatives , following a decision by the Office of Cybersecurity. The ban comes amid concerns about a lack of transparency about data protection, a lack of encryption for stored data and broader risks that could threaten government systems.
In the internal announcement, Parliament staff are urged to turn to more reliable alternatives, such as Microsoft Teams, Amazon's Wickr, Signal, as well as Apple's built-in solutions , iMessage and FaceTime.

One of the conversations was created by National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and included senior officials, as well as journalist Jeffrey Goldberg (by mistake) of The Atlantic. Another conversation, started by Hegseth himself, included his relatives and friends.
