Microsoft Bing displays a misleading Google search page when users search for the term “Google,” making it appear as if you are on the competing search engine.

When performing searches on Microsoft Bing, users are presented with a standard search page consisting of a search field with their search term at the top, followed by various user interface elements, such as different features , ads, and search results.
As first reported by WindowsLatest, when searching for Google directly from the Bing homepage, users now see a Google-like doodle with an additional search field underneath. All other content on the visible page also promotes services , making it appear as if you're on Google.
The only visible signs that you are not on Google are that bing.com appears in the address bar and there is text promoting Microsoft Bing below the search bar.
A user who shared the change with BleepingComputer said that he finds this new page misleading, as it can trick people into thinking they are on another search engine.
"When you search for 'Google' on Bing, you are presented with a fake Google-style search page," user X Sepher.

What makes it even more misleading is that this Google search listing page automatically scrolls down so you don't see the regular Bing header, further revealing that you're in Bing search results.

In tests, this alternative search page also appears for Yandex, Russia's largest search engine. However, in addition to Google, Microsoft Bing does not display the custom search page for DuckDuckGo, Brave Search , or Start Page.
Google presents a tweet from Parisa Tabriz, VP/General Manager of Chrome, as its official statement on the matter.
"'s spoofing of Google's homepage Microsoft is another tactic in a long history of tricks to confuse users and limit choices," Tabriz wrote on Twitter.
