WhatsApp is one of the most popular apps and any bug affects millions of users. Apart from text messages, users often send photos, videos and other media files. However, a new bug in WhatsApp seems to be preventing users from sharing videos with their friends. The problem seems to only affect some Android WhatsApp users. As of now, there have been no reports of issues on iPhone.

Complaints have been reported on various platforms, including X and Reddit. According to reports, trying to upload videos that are stored locally returns an error saying: “Unable to upload this video. Please choose a different video and try again.” Disabling HEVC/H.265 recording and HDR recording do not seem to help.

However, the bug does not seem to be affecting all users of the app. On the other hand, it affects both stable and beta versions of WhatsApp. WhatsApp Business is apparently not affected.
Those who have trouble sending videos do not report problems sending photos and other multimedia files.
WhatsApp: What's preventing you from sending videos?
It appears that a bug in the latest version of WhatsApp is behind the issue. The same error also occurs when sharing videos of yourself on the platform, while videos recorded directly through WhatsApp are also affected.
