In today's era, artificial intelligence (AI) is causing concern for many—the implications of an uncontrolled technological development that is invading various fields, from journalism and science to entertainment, disrupting everything with the latest trend.
Jennifer Lopez, in collaboration with Netflix, invites us into the world of Atlas, challenging us to ask ourselves: What would happen if learning to love artificial intelligence led us to an epic film, in the style of Titanfall?

Netflix has given us a glimpse into the original and bizarre concept that is “the Jennifer Lopez mecha movie, Atlas.” The initial trailer introduced Lopez as the lead, as Atlas—not to be confused with Boston Dynamics’ recently upgraded robot —faces the terror of a hostile alien world with the help of a giant robot pilot. The second trailer, however, adds additional elements to the plot, making the film less of a simple story and more of an exploration of Jennifer Lopez’s need to understand what artificial intelligence means and its limits.
This scene reveals the antagonist Simu Liu, an AI robot named Harlan, designed to help humanity, but who has become a threat. After being betrayed by Harlan, Atlas finds herself in a difficult position, forced to reconsider her views on artificial intelligence. When a mission goes awry, she is forced to don a giant mechanical suit of armor and team up with the ship's AI, Smith, forcing her to learn how to overcome human weaknesses with the help of a giant robot.

While it's fun to watch Jennifer Lopez star in a film inspired by Respawn, with an emphasis on mechanical design, you also have to learn to develop a love for your robotic companion, who resembles Siri!
