Google One is playing hide and seek with its 200 GB plan

It seems that Google is promoting the new Google One AI service subscription tier more than the standard 200 GB plan.

As first reported by the Google Watch Blog, it appears that Google is hiding the $3 per month plan for 200GB. This means that if you use up the 100GB plan, you'll automatically be upgraded to the 2TB plan.

Android Central confirms that the standard plan has disappeared from the Google One website. This is happening whether or not you're signed in to account .

The site only displays the plan you're currently on when you sign in, then automatically switches to the 2TB plan. When you sign out, the 200GB plan is skipped, and only the free 15GB tier and the 100GB plan are displayed alongside the standard 2TB tier.

Oddly enough, the 200GB plan still appears in the Google One app, albeit less prominently. To see the other available options, you'll need to scroll down and select "See more plans." These include the standard 200GB options and the basic 100GB options.

Despite all the confusion, one thing remains clear: Google One has not in any way canceled the 200GB plan. So, you can still use the mobile app if you're a subscriber to one of the more expensive plans

There are rumors that Google is keeping the 200GB plan out of sight for new users, pushing the 2TB AI Premium tier into the spotlight. It makes sense, since the search giant just launched this new plan with Gemini Advanced, signaling its growing commitment to providing productive AI capabilities to rival OpenAI.
