The experience of using Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses is unique, as they appear like regular glasses, but have cameras, speakers , and microphones. And since they're also called smart, Meta has now released a software update for its glasses that appears to improve the quality of images captured by the cameras.
The update is rolling out now to Ray-Ban Meta owners via the Meta View app. According to the release notes, the “Version 2” software brings a number of improvements to image quality. Meta says that noise reduction, auto-exposure, and color rendition are improved, making photos and videos “sharper and clearer in low-light conditions.”

If you own a Ray-Ban Meta, here's how you can upgrade your smart glasses:
- Open the “Meta View” app on your phone
- Tap the “Settings” menu
- Select the option “Your Glasses”“
- Click “Updates”
Make sure your glasses are nearby, connected to your phone, and charged before installing an update.
For those who don't know, the Ray-Ban Meta glasses are the successor to Ray-Ban Stories, Meta's first smart glasses in collaboration with Ray-Ban. With these glasses, users can take photos and videos of what they see with a simple click. You can also use the Ray-Ban Meta to go live on Instagram or make phone calls.
In the United States, the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses cost $329. There are different models available – and you can also customize them with corrective lenses.
