Samsung has announced its new line of smartphones, the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra, which are coming to "beat" Apple's iPhone 15 series, focusing on AI.
Samsung is putting a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence, aiming to deliver a range of cutting-edge experiences and apps. That's why it's bringing Galaxy AI. Galaxy AI supports Live Translate for real-time, two-way voice and text translation during phone calls. There's also an Interpreter that translates live conversations in split-view, so two people can converse in different languages. It even works without mobile data or Wi-Fi.

Additionally, Chat Assist can help users refine their conversations by suggesting an alternative wording in a different tone that better suits the conversation.
The AI built into the keyboard can translate messages, in real time, into 13 languages.
Another useful feature is Android Auto, which summarizes incoming messages and suggests relevant replies.
Next up is Transcript Assist, which uses artificial intelligence to transcribe, summarize, and translate recordings.
The Note Assist in Samsung Notes offers AI-generated summaries and templates.
Finally, Samsung is bringing “ Circle to Search ” with Google , which allows Galaxy S24 users to circle, highlight, write, or tap items on the smartphone screen to see search results .
Artificial intelligence, however, also brings improvements to the cameras of the new phone series. Samsung has opted for a Quad Tele System with a 50-megapixel 5x optical zoom lens. The S24 Ultra has a larger pixel size and an improved optical system , while the ProVisual Engine AI allows for improved digital zoom, better image quality in low light conditions and more noise reduction when recording videos.
The company also offers Galaxy AI editing tools that allow for changes like deletion, recomposition, and reconstruction, while Edit Suggestions suggests appropriate edits for each photo. Finally, Generative Edit can fill in parts of the background of an image.

As for the displays, all three models support adaptive refresh rates of 1 to 120 Hz, with the Ultra offering the brightest display. The Galaxy S24 Ultra comes with a 6.8-inch flat screen, while the regular Galaxy S24 has screen 6.2-inch screen and the S24+ has a 6.7-inch. Additionally, Samsung has emphasized the durability of the device, using Corning's Gorilla Armor.
In the Greek market, the new smartphone series will be available from January 31 with prices starting at 949 euros for the Galaxy S24 (memory and 128 GB internal storage) with the 256 GB version being at 999 euros. The Galaxy S24+ starts at 1199 euros for the version with 12 GB memory and 256 GB internal storage, while the one with 512 GB is at 1319 euros. Finally, the version with 12 GB memory and 256 GB internal storage of the Galaxy S24 Ultra costs 1499 euros. The version with 512 GB at 1619 euros, while there is also the model with 1 TB that will cost 1859 euros.
Samsung sees AI as a central element of its strategy for the future. It plans to integrate artificial intelligence into all of its products and services, offering a more personalized and flexible experience to consumers.
