It's been quite some time since the launch of the keyword search feature on Meta 's microblogging platform , known as Threads.

However, a major drawback of the search in Threads was that it did not allow users to view search results in reverse chronological order. However, this is changing now with the latest Threads update, which adds an option to display the most recent search results.

Threads now displays search results with the most recent posts first.
As noted by Threads users and also confirmed by 9to5Mac, the latest update to the Threads app allows users to choose whether they want to see search results based on suggestions or recent posts. The new filter is also available for viewing posts within tags, another feature that was recently rolled out to users.
After installing the update, users will see a button with three dots at the top of the screen when searching for a keyword or viewing posts under a tag. Click it and you will see the “Top” and “Latest” options for sorting.
Fortunately for Threads users, the app seems to remember the option the user has chosen, meaning that once you set the app to show the most recent posts in search, it will always display search results in reverse chronological order.
Unfortunately, however, this new feature appears to be available exclusively for iOS at the moment.

Ironically, Instagram CEO Adam Mosserisaid a few weeks ago that the company has no plans to introduce chronological search to the app, as it would "create a significant security gap."
