Gboard: Its new feature when connected to an Android tablet

If you no longer enjoy conventional laptops and desktops ,you can always try something that's far from original but is definitely different: a physical keyboard with Gboard on a tablet.

And if you do (on an Android tablet), you'll get some nice new features with the latest version of Gboard 13.6+ (via 9to5Google). Keep in mind that the new feature isn't yet present on every Android tablet out there, but it's gradually being upgraded.

When you connect a physical keyboard to your tablet, a new Gboard toolbar appears. It doesn’t matter if the keyboard is connected wirelessly (via Bluetooth, for example) or wired via USB—the new toolbar appears.

It’s shaped like a pill and can be moved anywhere on the screen. By default, it appears at the bottom of the screen so it doesn’t interfere with your typing.

The toolbar provides a suggestion bar (like the one offered by the virtual Gboard), which was previously only accessible if you had the full keyboard software open (this meant less screen space, as the virtual keyboard takes up a significant portion of the screen). There is a button to collapse the toolbar on the left/right edge (you can also drag there), as well as quick access to the emoji picker, which opens in a floating phone-sized UI, with the full variety of icons.

In Gboard’s “Physical Keyboard” settings, users can enable or disable this new toolbar, if desired. There are also preferences for emoji in the toolbar, Suggestions while typing, Auto-capitalization, and Auto-correction.

Gboard is a keyboard app from Google that offers a plethora of features to improve the user's typing experience. One of its main features is the built-in Google search, which allows users to search for information directly from their keyboard.

Additionally, Gboard includes a gesture typing feature, known as 'Glide Typing', which allows users to type words by sliding their finger from letter to letter, rather than tapping each letter individually.

Gboard also offers a wide range of personalization options, including various keyboard themes and colors. Users can customize the appearance of their keyboard to their liking.

Another important feature of Gboard is its support for multiple languages and dialects, making it suitable for users from all over the world. In addition, Gboard supports text input with voice recognition, allowing users to speak their messages instead of typing them.
