Microsoft has released the optional KB5031445 Preview for Windows 10 22H2 with nine improvements or fixes, including a fix for a memory leak in ctfmon.exe.

The preview of cumulative update KB5031445 is part of Microsoft's "optional preview updates" program, which is typically released on the last Tuesday of each month. This update allows administrators to test upcoming fixes and features that will be released during the upcoming November Patch Tuesday.
Unlike Patch Tuesdays, preview updates do not include security updates.
Windows users can install this update by following these steps: Go to Settings, click on Windows Update and manually perform a 'Check for Updates'. As it is optional, you will be asked if you want to install it by clicking on the “ Download and Install ” link .
After installing this update, Windows 10 22H2 will be updated to version 19045.3636.
Windows 10 users can also manually download and install the preview update KB5031445 from the Microsoft Update Catalog .
Microsoft did not add any new features to this version, with the update acting as a bug fix for Windows 10, resolving nine issues.

The three highlighted fixes and new features in update KB5029331 are:
- Addresses an issue affecting touchscreens.
- Supports time changes in Syria during daylight saving time.
- Addresses a memory leak in ctfmon.exe.
The only known issue in this update causes errors in BitLocker:
“Using the FixedDrivesEncryptionType or SystemDrivesEncryptionType policy settings in the BitLocker Configuration Service Provider (CSP) in mobile device management (MDM) applications may incorrectly display a 65000 error in the “Device Encryption Required” setting for some devices in your environment,” the release notes explain.
Microsoft says this is only a reporting issue and not a BitLocker drive encryption issue. The company says they are working on a fix and will release it when it is ready. A full list of fixes can be found in support bulletin KB5031445.
